The next version of Wii Transfer is now ready for early beta testing. There are improvements across the product, but the main focus has been on improving the movie conversion experience, better streaming quality, wider file format support, and new preferences such as higher bitrate AAC conversion, setting the movies cache folder, and customizing specific music playlists. Also several important bug fixes.

I hope there is something in this version that makes Wii Transfer easier to use or more useful for you. If you have any questions, bug reports, or feedback, please post a comment here or just email support@riverfold.com. Thanks!

As always with pre-release software, please make sure you have good backups.

I updated the latest version (see link above) to beta 4, which continues to fine-tune the new movies browsing and caching interface. I expect there will be a few more betas as the last features fall into place.

Just downloaded this version and I'm processing a movie right now. Will keep you informed about any bugs if I will find them.

Doesn't work very well without a license. Maybe you can send me one, I will do some testing for you.

    Thanx Jonathan

  6. Couldn't get my Mii's to render as a picture, Wii Transfer seem to know one was there but wouldn't show me an image. I exported the image but it appeared completely white.

I've been right around the houses with streaming media (mainly mp3) from the mac to the wii, this looks like the best option yet. I still only have the demo because the bugs in the beta and final release of this don't seem to be resolved.

I have found some free alternatives that work, just through far clumsier interfaces or with unacceptable internet usage. The mp3 hiccup playback known issue in this is the major stumbling block, however the beta still doesn't display ALL of my mp3 collection.(Checked twice now, through fresh downloads), other DL doesn't suffer this issue.

Looking forward to the two issues becoming resolved. Would appreciate a standalone working mp3 streaming product with an attractive interface. Iron the bugs out in this and I'd be chuffed.

I'd be hacked off if I'd paid for it and found these issues though.

deplorableword, I've seen this problem with another customer too and I'm investigating it. It looks like Wii Transfer is copying the Mii data correctly but for some reason it doesn't get rendered. I'll post a fix as soon as I can reproduce it.

egg1000, I still have your email and will follow up with you soon about those two issues.

I updated Wii Transfer to beta 16, which fixes the Mii rendering problem reported above. Thanks! Choose "Check for Updates" from the Wii Transfer application menu to auto-update to the latest version.

Hi falcom1998. Beta testing is over for now, as the final version of 2.6 is now available. I will likely post future betas to these forums, though.
